Eleven Month Recap

Weight: 17lb 8oz

Length: 27.5"

Clothing size: Mostly 9 month, but he's starting to wear some of his 12 month shirts/pants. He still has teeny tiny feet and wears size 2 infant shoes.

Diaper size: size 3

Eating: Caleb takes four bottles (6-7oz) each day, and he eats purees three times/day. We're still working on teaching him to drink from his straw cup.

Sleeping: Caleb usually goes to sleep around 7:30-8:00pm and wakes up around 6:30-7:00am. He naps a couple times during the day, and those naps are anywhere from 0.5-2 hours.

Highlights of the month: Caleb got his first tooth, and he learned how to clap!

Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday, we went to a pumpkin patch at Wings. The weather was amazing, and it was a perfect day to spend a little time outside. We took lots of photos and purchased a few pumpkins. Caleb rode in a pumpkin train, slid (with assistance) down a slide for the first time, watched some rabbits in their cage, and played with lots of hay. He didn't seem too interested in the pumpkins.

If you need any pumpkins or fall flowers, you should stop by Wings! All of the proceeds benefit their programs/activities for adults with special needs. They are doing amazing work, and I look forward to Caleb being involved there when he's older.

(I took this image from the Wings website. I didn't ask permission, but I figure they don't mind me promoting their event!)

First Tooth

Caleb has his first tooth! I've been thinking that he was teething for a while, even though I've read countless times that children with Down syndrome usually don't get their first tooth until 12-18 months of age. He's been chewing and drooling off and on all summer, and I have felt a little "ridge" or "bump" on his lower gum for the last couple weeks. That little pearly white finally popped through yesterday! I tried several times yesterday evening and this morning to get a photo of it, but Caleb wasn't interested in helping his mama out. So for now, you get a photo of the first entry on the "teething" page in Caleb's baby book!
