Light

Have you seen Gungor's music video for their new song, "Light"? A childhood friend shared it with me the other day. If I was talented enough to write a song about how Caleb changed me, this would be it. It's so perfect! Thank you, Michael & Lisa Gungor, for gifting us with this beautiful song and video. Your daughter, Lucie, is a "perfect light"... as is my precious Caleb.

Tyler - Six Months

Weight: 15 lbs 8 oz

Length: 26.75"

Clothing size: 6-9 month onesies, rompers and PJs. 3-6 month shorts and pants. Size 2 shoes.

Diaper size: Size 2

Eating: Tyler usually nurses 7 times each day. He takes one 5oz bottle before "bedtime" each evening and takes two or three 5oz bottles while I'm at work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Sleeping: Tyler goes to bed at about 8:30pm and usually sleeps until about 7:00-7:30am. Naps have been a challenge lately. He usually takes a few short naps during the day... right after eating, while we're in the car, etc. I'm trying to get him to take longer naps in his crib, but we're not having much luck with that right now.

Highlights of the month: Tyler rolls from his back to his tummy and from his tummy to his back. He has started "talking" so much. And he smiles/laughs a ton when Mommy tells him stories and when Daddy makes silly sounds.

San Antonio

It's been almost a month since we took a little weekend trip to San Antonio. I meant to write a long post about everything we did and share some advice for anyone thinking about making the trip... but seeing as how I haven't found the time to write out that post, I'm just going to post some photos and mention a few brief things. If you are thinking about going to San Antonio and have questions about anything we did there, please feel free to ask in the comments or send me an email! We ate at some delicious restaurants and went to a couple attractions... 

SeaWorld San Antonio 
Caleb loved the Sesame Street Bay of Play. He was able to do most of the rides with an accompanying adult. A couple of the animal exhibits were closed for renovations, but we did see some penguins, puffins, and reptiles. Brad and I took turns with my parents watching the boys, so that we could do a couple roller coasters. And of course, we saw the Shamu show ("One Ocean"). There were several other shows that looked interesting, but the show times didn't work with our schedule. 

Morgan's Wonderland
This is an amusement park for kids of all abilities. Anyone with special needs gets free admission, and everything there is wheelchair accessible. Caleb's still fairly new to this whole walking thing, so the barrier-free design was ideal for him. He had no trouble walking around and exploring this park. Caleb loved the carousel, playgrounds, sensory village and the Water Works play area. 

And, of course, what's a trip to San Antonio without a visit to the Alamo?! 

Tyler - Five Months

Weight: 14 lbs 3oz

Length: 26.5"

Clothing size: 3-6 month. He still wears 0-3 month shorts and pants, because his waist is so skinny.

Diaper size: size 1

Eating: Tyler nurses 7-8 times each day. He takes one 5oz bottle before "bedtime" each evening and takes two or three 5oz bottles while I'm at work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Sleeping: Tyler goes to bed at about 9:15pm and usually sleeps through the night (until about 7:00-7:30am). On the days that he's home, he takes a couple 30-60 minute naps. Occasionally, he takes a longer nap. At Mother's Day Out, he usually takes one 15-20 minute nap and one 2-3 hour nap.

Highlights of the month: Tyler started rolling from his back to his tummy. He doesn't do it every day, but he has done it several times. When on his tummy, he's pushing up on his arms quite a bit and starting to push on his feet every now and then.

Branson 2015

We returned home a couple days ago from our annual Branson trip with friends. Brad played a couple rounds of golf with the guys. I woke up super early each morning to run the hills around our rental house. Caleb played a lot with his friends. Tyler ate a lot... with me. The wives had a wonderful lunch at a cute restaurant and celebrated the impending arrival of precious Baby Caroline... we can't wait to meet her in July! We had a wonderful time on our trip, and we are already looking forward to next year!

First Day of MDO

Tyler started Mother's Day Out on Monday! He has a couple really sweet teachers who really took the time to talk to me and learn as much as they could about Tyler on his first day. I know he's in great hands.
